Tuning Policy
These policies explain how Speed Farm Garage handles vehicle information, tuning revisions, modified components, competition applications, diagnostics, and special requests.
Vehicle Information & Modifications
Speed Farm Garage provides tuning services in good faith based on the vehicle information, modifications, scan data, logs, and other information supplied to us.
Tuning accuracy is limited by the accuracy and specificity of the information provided in the tuning request.
Customers are responsible for providing complete and accurate information about all modifications relevant to the calibration. Different injectors, turbochargers, fuel systems, transmissions, converters, sensors, engine components, or other modifications can require materially different calibration.
If relevant modifications are omitted, incorrectly identified, changed after tuning, or otherwise not presented to us accurately and in full, additional revision fees may apply to make the calibration appropriate for the actual vehicle configuration.
Mechanical Condition
Vehicles are assumed to be in good mechanical condition when tuning begins.
Tuning may expose existing mechanical problems that were not noticeable at lower power levels or under normal operating conditions. This can include issues with fuel systems, turbochargers, sensors, wiring, engines, transmissions, cooling systems, or other vehicle components.
Tuning is not represented as a repair for underlying mechanical problems.
Power Levels
Any horsepower or torque figures shown with our tuning are based on results observed during our testing on a stock vehicle unless otherwise stated.
They are provided as a reference for the relative output of the tuning, not as a guarantee that another vehicle will produce the same horsepower or torque.
Actual output will vary with the condition of the vehicle, installed parts, fuel quality, environmental conditions, dyno differences, and other factors outside of the calibration itself.
As power levels rise, the mechanical and thermal stresses associated with using that additional power also rise. Increased power can accelerate wear and may require shorter service intervals depending on how the vehicle is operated.
The tuning provides the ability to produce the additional power. How often and how aggressively that power is used is controlled by the operator, and that use has a direct effect on component wear and service life.
Built & Modified Transmissions
Transmission tuning is based on the information provided to Speed Farm Garage about the transmission, converter, internal modifications, and intended use.
Calibration requirements vary between transmission builds and hardware combinations.
Where the transmission builder provides specific tuning instructions or requirements, we will use that information as the basis for the transmission calibration.
If no build specifications or tuning instructions are provided, we will use our usual applicable setup as the default starting point based on our experience with similar combinations.
If the transmission does not respond as expected, additional information from the customer or transmission builder may be required before further calibration changes can be made.
Speed Farm Garage cannot determine unknown internal transmission specifications through tuning alone.
If transmission modifications, builder requirements, or other relevant information were not provided accurately and in full when tuning was ordered, additional revision fees may apply.
Competition Tuning
Competition-level tuning may be available at the discretion of Speed Farm Garage.
These calibrations are intended for applications where maximum performance is prioritized over normal service life.
Competition tuning may operate the vehicle at substantially higher thermal and mechanical stress levels and is known to accelerate failure rates when that additional performance is used.
Competition tuning is not simply an additional normal-use power level and may be declined where we do not believe the vehicle, application, or intended use is appropriate.
Requests We May Decline
Speed Farm Garage reserves the right to decline tuning requests that we believe create an unreasonable likelihood of vehicle damage, provide little or no functional benefit, or remove a control strategy important to normal mechanical operation.
Examples include, but are not limited to:
- Simulated or real hard-cut rev limiters
- Converter strategies that prevent normal unlock during gear shifts
- Requests intended primarily to create unnecessarily harsh or damaging engine, transmission, or driveline behaviour
Exceptions may be considered where a legitimate technical requirement exists and the requested strategy is necessary for the application.
The existence of a technical capability does not require Speed Farm Garage to provide it.
Simulated or real hard-cut rev limiters are not considered a technical requirement and are not offered.
Diagnostics & Mechanical Issues
Speed Farm Garage will assist with determining whether a reported concern appears calibration-related using the scan data, logs, vehicle information, customer descriptions, and other information available to us.
There are limits to what can be diagnosed remotely.
Where the available information indicates a mechanical concern, or does not allow the cause to be reliably isolated remotely, we may require diagnosis by a qualified repair facility or component builder before further tuning revisions are made.
Speed Farm Garage does not have in-house mechanics and does not represent itself as a mechanical repair facility.
We are an automotive software, tuning, and sales business.
Changes After Tuning
Customers should notify Speed Farm Garage before continuing to use an existing calibration after making modifications that may affect tuning requirements.
Changes to components such as injectors, turbochargers, fuel systems, engine internals, transmissions, converters, tire size, gearing, sensors, or other relevant hardware may require calibration changes.
A tune supplied for one vehicle configuration should not be assumed appropriate after that configuration changes.
Additional revision fees may apply where tuning changes are required because the vehicle configuration changed after the original tuning was supplied.
Right to Decline Tuning
Speed Farm Garage reserves the right to decline a tuning request, revision, power increase, special feature, or competition calibration where the request is inappropriate for the vehicle, presents excessive mechanical risk, falls outside our technical capabilities, or is otherwise not something we are comfortable providing.
Being technically possible does not necessarily mean a requested calibration strategy is appropriate or something we are willing to release.
Good Faith
Our goal is to provide calibrations that perform as intended based on the vehicle information available to us while maintaining realistic expectations around the mechanical limitations of modified vehicles.
We will use the information available to us to address legitimate calibration-related concerns within the scope of the purchased tuning service and to help determine when a concern instead requires mechanical diagnosis.
Modified vehicles vary considerably. Tuning cannot eliminate the mechanical limitations, wear, maintenance requirements, or failure risks associated with increased performance.
Privacy Policy
How Speed Farm Garage collects, stores, and uses customer information.
Collection of Information
Speed Farm Garage and its associated branches may collect or store personal information for uses related to processing orders, providing customer support, maintaining tuning and revision records, transaction records, fraud or chargeback disputes, and other legitimate business purposes.
This may include, but is not limited to, sharing information with outside suppliers for the purposes of order processing, between employees, or automated submission to payment processors and other service providers used to operate our business.
Information held is intended to support our business operations and improve customer experiences, not for sale to outside sources.
In addition, we reserve the right to decline storing additional information when requested on a case-by-case basis with no process for appeal.
Plain English: If we don't want to keep additional information saved for any reason, we won't.
WE DO NOT SELL CUSTOMER INFORMATION, DO NOT ASK.
Requests to purchase customer information will result in severance of communication via phone, email, mail re-routing, or other methods. Further action may be taken on a case-by-case basis.
Retention & Removal
Personal information is retained for as long as it remains required for the purposes for which it was collected, including order processing, customer support, tuning and revision history, accounting, fraud or chargeback disputes, and other legitimate business or legal requirements.
Removal requests will be accommodated where practical and permitted, but some records may need to be retained or may not be technically removable from third-party systems, backups, emails, text messages, transaction records, or other systems outside of our direct control.
If records are removed at a customer's request, we may no longer be able to verify previous tuning purchases, vehicle configurations, files, or revision history.
This may result in the loss of eligibility for discounted revision pricing, and future tuning may need to be treated as a new service at the applicable rate.
Service Providers & Processing
We use third-party services where required to operate our business, including services for e-commerce, payment processing, communications, shipping, order fulfillment, and related business functions.
Personal information may be processed or stored outside of Canada through these services and, while in another jurisdiction, may be subject to the laws and lawful access requirements of that jurisdiction.
